Multiple titles can be harder to implement than it seems. A lot harder. Title name can be changed - yes. I guess I can give this a try, but I have a feeling this is out of spec. No, it won't work. The menu your players show is explicitly set in the MPLS file - nowhere else. Actually in the logs it says, ignoring chapter marks, but I told muxer tab to insert them every 5min.
I will test it and see if they work on my player. Bummer, oh well hopefully you can get a player soon if more people donate and this will speed up your testing and maybe make it a bit easier. Are you saying we can change it in current version, or do you mean its something you can add in the future version updates?
Yes, chapters are ignored forcefully at the last moment before muxing because otherwise tsmuxer output is NOT compatible when used via SDHC. I will try to add title name shown in Editor to show on your TVs too. As of now, not really necessary much since we can only get one title on the SDHC for now.
Update done. I don't have any editor tab. Will try to make a pic have only Panasonic BD50 of menu. Despite you don't see the tab - your panasonic should show the name of the file you loaded. Can you check? OK, I had deactivated menu yes. Upload the image to some free image server like imageshack. I tried again with x with recent build, this time it shows as a title but cannot play. It is 4. The player shows it is 1hr32min longs but just says cannot play and has an x beside the title in the menu.
I thought someone here mentioned that there is a 4GB limit for the FAT32 file system, so you might be running into issues. Just tested a x, Soooo happy! I didn't expect subtitles to work! Great great : :DI must admit neither was I I have just tested a 58m58s P HD video.
I didn't watch the whole thing in realtime, but I scanned forward and checked sync every 10 minutes. It played fine and kept sync all the way through. MTS file was 1. Authored with the latest build I forgot to mention, in one of my earlier tests that I didn't post, I tried encoding at Level 4. It showed as one item in the Direct Navigator playlist and it played the clips sequentially.
I used the chapter skip forward button and it skipped to the next video clip. Fatal 13 : sample. Let's see if they'll show in your players. Dean: Menu shows up fine, with the 2 titles.
Launching the 1st title plays the 2 titles sequentially slight freeze on title change, but I guess there's nothing we can do about that : great! In Panasonic user's manual we can read 'you can experience pauses between scenes', so I guess it is normal. It will be ready in some of the next builds. The ability to add individual sources and have them appear as separate titles is great news Nice one :. I had tested the sample files at BD60 and everything worked but somebody tested on the TV?
It is very strange because if you generate a file from SD1, in both equipment the file works, but in case of the samples it just worked at BD. Somebody already tried? I just finished my work on index. Just a bit for movieobj. I really hope it will work smooth. One other questions: It sounds like doing chapter marks will actually not be possible since it will require you to cut the file ever 5 mins and them link the cut files all in a single playlist.
Unless this can be scripted via tsmuxer Also, I have a single 4. So here is hoping its possible to do chapter cuts in the future. Great work Dean, big thanks! Enjoy build Let me know if it works and what's the max title count supported by your players in this mode.
Hi Dean, So far so good I'm just interested by what SeeMoreDigital said - mainly the last sample he said that works - surely that is a non-compliant size x? SeeMoreDigital - did you have to do anything special for this to work, did it play back in the correct aspect ratio? Has anyone else tried non-compliant sizes? Ok, I will give it a try in build once its up for download, :thanks:. It is since I posted. I refreshed but do not see links for build , are the older rapidshare 2.
Just tried muxing 10No sources Thanks, SMD. I guess there is something special, but I have no idea at this point. I think movieobj. If this works for most of you - I think my work with Panasonic is done Panasonic BD60 US v1. Two titles show up in the playlist and play consecutively. Skip forward and back moves between titles. Subtitles work and stay on through title changes as well as after you go back to the playlist, then start playing another title again.
Amazing work! Well, you didn't need to test the sample Just add your own files in build and do your own compilation to see if it will work. You can test with NC resolutions, too and see how it will go. Using standard resolutions and framerates is always a good idea.
All titles show up in the Panasonic Direct Navigator menu and all work as expected. Great work Dean. For all you folks using this feature now, I think its time to donate a little to Dean for a job well done.
Dean, I know you mention above that your work on Panasonic support is almost done, but do you think that it will ever be possible to implement the every 5mins chapters feature or might this require you to ask tsmuxer author to add the ability to split files every 5 mins instead of at maximum file size points?
It sounds like even with split files that they play consecutively without pause if they are in the same playlist.
I'll think of it, but at this point I think you've all got a pretty nice feature already. Hey, if you are in Chicago again, definitely PM me and I will buy you a few rounds myself. I know of quite a few cool places myself :. BD60 results with build I just made a compilation of all the 5 source files I used for the single test clips I posted earlier. All 5 clips had different resolutions and framerates. It worked great. Fantastic work! The 5 clips were: x, 24 fps x, I previously used the force AR to option in multiAVCHD with my single title test, but I was afraid that option would affect all titles, including the one that was meant to be As I said, it's just a minor issue having to do with Standard Def and I can easily plan to work around it by keeping my video in a different compilation than any Standard Definition videos.
Force won't do any harm to your other videos since they are already Give it a try with the option with all 5 - it should work. I didn't see you have two x files SMD: with build ? I just used fc. I did not have to do this with previous versions. Do you think my install has become borked? SMD: No, the option is auto-unchecked at each start.
Also Editor tab will be present always. I'm off to bed now MP4 sources. I updated, but I was already using build , so it didn't change. I made new compilations with two files: x, With "Force " the clip plays correctly and the is incorrectly squeezed to This leads me to suspect there are two places where the aspect ratio is set. The "Force " setting seems to be setting a flag somewhere else in the authored file structure, which is why it can play a DAR 1.
Hi Dean, Thank you for your great application. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. I have Panasonic TV. Unfortunately "no valid file to play" appeared Only 1 title s will be available! Maybe I am doing something wrong? Greetings, Peter. What is your player? That's what it did, but I changed it so it wouldn't touch tsmuxer decision about AR in clpi file. SeeMoreDigital said it played on his TV with the samples.
And I was asking about TV system - that's why I re-posted his log, because it is 25fps. Or perhaps there is a way to set the external Force flag for each individual title rather than in the video?
If it's not a straightforward fix, please don't worry too much about it. I don't want this change for a minor issue to cause any other new problems. I already have these folders Tomorrow I will test it with another mkv's that I have and also with your test files Wait a bit.
Can someone try using split points multiple mts files to test with Panasonic BD players? Panasonic BD60 testing build for Aspect Ratio flag detection per title and mixed aspect ratio compilation. First, I tested 3 clips in a mixed compilation. All tests were done in build without "Force ". The and both clips were played at their proper aspect ratios.
During this test, I noticed something which I hadn't before. It is possibly a Panasonic bug or poor performance. On build compilations or single titles, the x titles have a long delay before playing.
From the playlist, when you press Play the screen goes to black, then the counter shows for about 9 seconds, then the video starts playing at s. I re-checked the source. The full clips play from the beginning on a PC. So, I checked build with x Although there is a slight delay before playing, the full video plays from the beginning on the Panasonic. Once again, the first 9 seconds of the video is skipped and playback starts from s.
So, this was happening before only with "Force " but I didn't notice earlier. When played in the Panasonic, the screen is black and the display shows for seconds, then the clip starts playing from s. In the case of this clip, the first two words of dialog are cut off and corresponding video.
This may simply be a Panasonic problem, so I don't know if there is a fix for the delay playing back with this Force technique. Can you repeat the test with the latest build updated just 1 min ago. Can you repeat the test with the same content burnt to a DVD disc? Source: was the 58ms x, There is an "X" next to the title and when I try to play, it says "Cannot Play". I hit Return to exit the Direct Navigation playlist and went back to the blue Panasonic default background with no menu.
Then I pressed play. The video did play all the way through. Nicely done. Operation prohibited. This may have to do with playing from the default blue screen rather than the Direct Navigation playlist. I haven't noticed any previous performance issues though.
My earlier tests with P and i Mbps without the detection played at full speed without cutting anything off. My current tests with missing 9 seconds are only Mbps.
Okay - nice You can try again. I will try, I have a 16gb card, and a 4. Make sure it is formatted with Panasonic SD formatter. I don't know if your players support over 8GB cards - you need to check your player user's manual.
I repeated my compilation test on BD60 with build The x is now missing the first 3 words instead of just 2 cutting the first 1s. The second clip x is still missing 9 seconds. Since you have SDHC, would you mind also testing this clip to see if the first 9 seconds are cut off?
Press play and watch the counter. Mine stays on on a black screen for 9 seconds, then jumps to and finally starts playing.
